About the Killearn 10K
The Killearn 10k is Scottish Athletics affiliated (license pending) and facilitated by members of jogscotland Killearn and the local community. It is classified as a trail run, but is multi-terrain with tarmac, forest path, farm track and open grassland. It is open to entrants aged 16 and over and welcomes first timers and racing legends. We are LGBT friendly. We are non-binary friendly. You can enter our race as female, male or non-binary. If you are transgender, we are happy for you to enter and run in the gender category you identify with. Limit set to 300 participants (no waiting list).
Final registration takes place at Killearn Primary School – from where entrants are be piped up to the mighty Buchanan Monument for final race briefing. The race then starts at 11am from the War Memorial. Keeping to the same beautiful route which the Killearn 10k is renowned for, the trail heads out through the village onto the historic pipe track, following along the foothills of Dumgoyne, returning back via Ibert Road. The finish line remains, as always, at Killearn Park where medals and goodie bags are awarded to all finishers.
The routes and paths around the village of Killearn offer a fantastic opportunity for runners and walkers to enjoy our countryside away from the main roads. Each year the Killearn 10k have donated funds to the Killearn Paths Group, a local charity which aims to improve access to the countryside of our area for all users.
